As the first day of May dawned, bringing with it a public holiday, the excitement began early. From the break of morning, our dedicated members geared up their motorcycles, ready to embark on a long weekend filled with adventure, brotherhood, and the much-anticipated ‘Island to Island’ event.

This year, we proudly welcome our brothers and sisters from Calabria and Catania, eager to showcase our beloved rock—small in size yet bursting with history, stunning landscapes, and endless charm. And what better backdrop than perfect riding weather? A blue sky blended with a crisp north wind set the stage for a day meant to be spent on the road, embracing the freedom we hold dear.

At 9 AM, the unmistakable roar of Harley engines filled the air as our members began to gather at our usual meeting spot, The Kettles in Mriehel. With espresso and cappuccinos in hand, we kept a close eye on the approaching ferry from Sicily. At the port, our captain and ambassador stood watch, waiting for the moment to signal the group. And when the catamaran finally neared, we saddled up, united in our ride to Marsa, ready to welcome the first group from the Duemari HOG Chapter.

At the ferry terminal, we gathered, ready to welcome our visiting riders. As soon as they arrived, handshakes were exchanged, and the unmistakable sense of shared enthusiasm set the tone for the day ahead. Without hesitation, we saddled up and set off as a group, heading toward the northwest coast, taking our guests through Żurrieq belvedere, Siggiewi, Fawwara, Rabat and a stop at Mdina. With reserved parking secured outside the historic bastions, we took a stroll through the ancient streets, giving our visitors a glimpse of Mdina’s grandeur, its stunning architecture, and breathtaking views.

By midday, hunger kicked in, and what better way to introduce our visitors to Malta than with a stop at the famous ‘Is-Serkin’? Traditional pastizzi, Maltese ftira, and chilled local beer brought everyone together under the shade, where laughter and warmth flowed effortlessly between locals and guests alike.
Time has a way of slipping by when you’re in great company, and before we knew it, the afternoon had rolled past 2 PM. But the ride was far from over! With spirits high, we geared up once again, guiding our visitors toward their hotel for check-in. Though unexpected traffic slowed us down, the journey remained enjoyable, taking us through Bingemma, Mgarr, Goden Bay, St. Paul’s Bay Bypass, and along the stunning coast road before reaching St. Julian’s and the Vivaldi Hotel.

With bikes securely parked and accommodations settled, our local members took a well-deserved break—though some weren’t quite ready to wrap up the day just yet. Instead, they capped off the night with a relaxed ride to the south, indulging in a sweet treat at Dolce Sicilia in Marsascala, still buzzing with anticipation for Friday’s official opening of the event.

And as we prepare to welcome our extended HOG family from the Etna Chapter, one thing is crystal clear: unity, friendship, and an unwavering passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles are the threads that bind us all. Over the next three days, La Valette Malta members will ride, connect, and embrace the true meaning of freedom and solidarity—solidifying bonds that stretch across borders and generations.

Let’s ride, live, and celebrate the road ahead!
