La Valette - Malta

Code of Conduct
Being a La Valette – Malta member is all about having fun, riding safely in a group provided with the appropriate support & understanding of the Worldwide Harley Owners Group guidelines. La Valette – Malta encourages anyone who wishes to practice or advance their riding skills to do so via training with external providers.
We believe that our attitudes are paramount.
We are not judgemental towards others & are supportive of one another as Chapter members.
The La Valette – Malta group Ethos is simple, aligning with the International HOG Chapter Charter. Our efforts & etiquette should be
-
Friendly
-
Safe
-
Fun
-
Supportive

In line with our Ethos, we have the following Code of Conduct; as active members of the group, we all agree to adhere to the following Code:
1. We are supportive of one another, constructive criticism & the exchange ideas is encouraged; however as a primarily social voluntary group we don’t want to waste time fixating on the negative, be it political moaning or indulging in unnecessary drama; we prefer to prioritise ride & event planning!
2. We will not tolerate any aggressive behaviour, nor the expression of any racist, sexist, homophobic or ageist views or any other judgements made of other people’s lifestyle, life-choices or indeed riding style.
3. Riding members should read & understand our group riding recommendations pack, attendance & participation in our ‘on the road’ group riding advice sessions is strongly encouraged, so we all continue to ride in accordance with HOG recommendations.
4. We do not challenge fellow members directly over any perceived deficiencies or issues with road craft. Any concerns with riding techniques should be brought to the attention of a member of the Road Captains who will address or deal with any concerns in a polite, courteous & constructive manner. We must all adhere to riding safely within our competences.
5. We welcome interest from potential new members as guests on up to two ride outs as we are aware that some future members may prefer to try our rides & social activities before joining, particularly if they are new to group riding. We enjoy providing support & encourage our members in making others welcome in this regard.
6. We want people to become involved with us because they freely wish to do so; no one should feel coerced, nor under pressure to join the Group.

To ensure a pleasant & enjoyable environment for everyone involved,
La Valette - Malta reserves the right to review the membership of Members if they are seen to violate our Code of Conduct or Ethos, Group Bylaws, or the HOG Charter
