And while the cats are away…..

February. St Paul’s Shipwreck weekend. Traditionally famous for really bad weather. But this time, after an abnormally wet winter (with more rain still on lay-by), we were properly graced by the riding gods.

Long weekends are always a challenge. Some people travel, some escape the island, and some of us are off on “pleasure / group business” in our sister island. The rest? We do what we do best—put a few more miles on the clocks and meet up for the usual Sunday run.
8:59. Silence.
9:00. The first rumbles start rolling in.
Nearly 20 bikes in total.
Kettles was on fire… again.
Coffee, laughter, the usual banter. Quick briefing. Direction: North. Main roads only—because wet roads and shiny bikes don’t mix.

From Mrieħel to St Venera, Pembroke, Coast Road, Xemxija Bypass, Golden Sands, Manikata, Popeye Village… and finally Mellieħa Square. One of our favourite spots, and for good reason.
This led to another spontaneous static show.
WOW.
A drink (or two), more catching up, with plenty of anticipation for next Saturday’s Carnival event. It’s going to be hot. The crowd will be hot. Enough said.

Of course, plans for the Salutamu run had to be discussed—because some traditions are non-negotiable.
Just another typical La Valette Sunday:
Miles.
Friends.
Bikes.
Experiences.
Carnival of desire … here we come. ❤️🏍️
