Windy & Grey Skies but we still ride our Harleys

Another Weekend with the La Valette Malta
The Maltese weather couldn’t seem to make up its mind this weekend. It was one of those in-between spells—windy, with grey skies, but just enough sunlight breaking through to remind us that summer isn’t far off. None of that stopped the La Valette Malta bikers from doing what they love best, though. We stuck to tradition with Saturday Garage Days, meeting up to catch up, share stories, and talk all things about Harley. It’s always a great time to check out each other’s bike projects, and this weekend’s standout moment was definitely Omar Farrugia rolling in on his shiny new Street Glide ST, a sleek black stallion. After his first spin on it, you didn’t need to ask how he felt—his ear-to-ear grin said it all.

Later, some of the group rode to Ghajn Tuffieħa, stopping at The Apple’s Eye Bar for a chilled beer and more good conversations before heading home to recharge for Sunday.
Sunday started with a bit of suspense. Rain had hit parts of Malta, and we weren’t sure if the ride was on. But, true to our motto—ride all year round as long as it’s safe—we decided to go for it. By 8:30 AM, the Mrieħel area was buzzing with the rumble of Harley engines. Manager Adrian Vella got the ball rolling with a post about being all set for morning coffee, encouraging the rest of us to join in. And we did—over 20 riders showed up by 9:30 AM, grabbing their coffee inside the shop since the weather wasn’t playing nice.

By 10:00 AM, we were ready to roll, with our Ambassador Silvio Caruana leading the way. The ride was something special, taking us through Rabat, Buskett, past Mqabba and Għaxaq, and finally to Marsascala. At Żonqor Point, we took a breather, enjoying the view of the rough sea under cloudy skies—quite a scene that matched the weather’s mood. We wrapped up the stop at Fajjtata Bar before splitting off—some headed home, others cruised to Xemxija, and a few relaxed over lunch at Zion Restaurant.

Even with the hazy grey skies—what we Maltese call temp tal-Ġimgħa l-Kbira—it was a brilliant weekend spent doing what we love with great people. And now, we’re gearing up for our Trinacria trip to Sicily, where over 50 of us will ride, connect, and share unforgettable moments with our Sicilian friends. That’s just who we are—La Valette Malta, the largest Harley-Davidson HOG on the island, and a community that lives for the ride.
