The Big Weekend is Here!

Friday night rolled around, and you know what that means—engines fired up and the unmistakable rumble of Harleys echoing through Kettles as a couple dozen of us gathered for our weekly run. Destination: South. Mood: 100% throttle.

Leading the pack was none other than Oliver Cassar—steady, stylish, and probably the only one who knows exactly where he was going. Backing him up were our freshly minted Acting Road Captains, Felix Buttigieg and Chris Bezzina. Big shout-out to these two legends stepping into their new roles—we wish them smooth roads, let the wind blow from behind!
The ride itself? Butter. Smooth, clean, with just enough red lights to give us time to admire each other's bikes (and maybe flex a little for the passersby). We peeled out of Kettles, cruised down toward Marsa where the streets were already lit up for the village festa—gotta love that local colour. Then it was on past the airport, through Hal Far and Birżebbuġa, and up Tal-Barrani Road toward Valletta.

Once in the capital, we did a celebratory loop—because let’s be honest, if you roll into Valletta on a Harley and don’t make some noise about it, were you even there? Our final stop: the Hard Rock Café at the Valletta Waterfront, where we parked up and set up a static display of our beautiful beasts. Chrome shining, pride on full display.
We had a table for 30 booked (because yes, we roll deep), and the evening just got better. Good food, cold drinks, and louder laughs. The vibes were amazing.

Now, most people might call it a night after that. But we’re not most people. When Oliver suggested a spontaneous ice cream run to Birgu, it took all of... half a second for some of us to mount up again. Because, let’s face it—bikers love ice cream almost as much as they love torque.
We ended the evening at Birgu, scooping gelato and chatting away like kids at a summer camp. Conversations quickly shifted to Saturday’s highly anticipated pool day, and we were all buzzing.
Oh, and to top it all off, we managed to raise €100 for the LOH’s charity efforts, just by doing what we love. Not too shabby for a Friday night ride.
This is what La Valette HOG is all about—brotherhood, fun, engines, and a little bit of mischief on the side.
Bring on the pool day—let’s go, HOGs!
