Relaxed Weekend with La Valette Malta

After a thrilling long weekend of island-to-island, the past week has been a quieter one for our group. It seems that everyone needed a bit of time to unwind and focus on their beloved bikes, making sure they were in top shape for the rides ahead. Without any major plans on the calendar, it was a refreshingly relaxed weekend—just what we needed before diving into the next adventures.
Saturday followed the usual rhythm as members gathered at our clubhouse for the popular garage days at WKD Showroom. Conversations naturally drifted toward reflections on the past weekend’s adventures and ideas for future rides—including a big one in two years’ time. As the day wound down, some members opted for a short ride to the south, capping off the evening with a well-earned chilled beer at Summer Nights Pub in Marsascala.
Sunday morning rolled in with cloudy skies and gusty winds, yet despite the Mother’s Day celebrations, the group stuck to tradition. Our weekly meet-up at The Kettles in Mriehel went ahead as planned, albeit with a shorter route to allow everyone time to celebrate the day with their loved ones. By 9 AM, members started arriving, as usual making some noise at the Farsons Brewery. As always, this meet-up was a prime moment to catch up, enjoy a quick coffee, and get set for the ride.

Oliver C took the lead, in briefing members on upcoming events, including the Distinguished Gentlemen's Ride the following Sunday—a global initiative supporting men's health—followed by a group buffet lunch at Olea Restaurant. With a quick rundown of the day's route, everyone geared up, ready to hit the road.

The ride took us through Mriehel Bypass, passing Rabat and the outskirts of Mdina, then weaving through Mgarr, Zebbiegh, and finally arriving at Apple’s Eye Restaurant for a well-deserved stop. Thanks to the efforts of Chris Bezzina in securing intersections, the ride was smooth, allowing everyone to move as a solid unit without interruptions. Seated at the restaurant’s terrace, we relaxed over drinks, sharing stories and soaking up the moment.

By 11 AM—earlier than our usual rides—the group slowly started to disperse, with riders peeling off to return home and continue their Mother’s Day celebrations. All in all, it was a weekend that provided a welcome balance of tranquility and movement, as if we were collectively recharging before the back-to-back events ahead. Next up: the Distinguished Gentlemen’s Ride, followed by an exciting Sunday in Gozo—May’s official group activity.

Meanwhile, our fellow member and road captain Kevin Caruana embarked on an exciting journey to Saint-Tropez for the H-D European Festival. We'll be hearing more about his adventures upon his return, and he's set to share his firsthand experiences with the group in an upcoming feature. We're looking forward to reliving his thrilling weekend through his eyes!
La Valette Malta remains committed to keeping the group thriving, ensuring that every ride brings new experiences both locally and beyond.
