La Valette is surely keeping us busy!

What a Saturday! Not your usual throttle-twisting, engine-roaring kind of day… but hey, we still managed to keep things loud — with laughter, stories, and the occasional camera click.

We kicked off with a 2-hour induction session led by none other than Rene Rossignaud — a photographic journalist with nerves of steel (and a soft spot for Harleys). Rene's got more stories than your uncle after two beers, and lucky for us, he came ready to share. With 18 of our La Valette crew in the room, Rene took us through the ins and outs of photography — from “how not to cut off someone’s head in the frame” to capturing the perfect moment without dropping your phone.

He also gave us a glimpse into his time covering war zones — sobering stuff. It’s a reminder that while we like our noise on two wheels, the world can be loud in other, less pleasant ways too. Respect to Rene for that.

Our very own Silvio then stepped in, certificates in hand — because if you sit through a two-hour session without falling asleep or trying to take a selfie with Rene, you deserve a bit of paper to prove it. Naturally, a group photo followed — because now we know how to take one properly!

But of course, it wouldn’t be a La Valette Saturday without the ride. This time we pointed our handlebars south, starting off at Kettles for the usual pre-ride catch-up (and maybe a sneaky drink). A solid 20-bike pack rolled out: Kettles > Marsa > Luqa > Hal Far > Birżebbuġa > and finally, Marsaxlokk.

A smooth, breezy 35-minute cruise — just over 21km of pure chrome therapy. Fire & Fork in Marsaxlokk was ready for us with plenty of parking (which we do appreciate — after all, we treat our bikes better than some people treat their pets).

Dinner time rolled in, and so did the laughter. 30 of us around one long table, with good food, better company, and drinks that kept mysteriously refilling themselves (funny how that happens).

And then — surprise! It was the birthday of our amazing LOH Officer, Phyllis. You know what that means... Cake! (and yes, it disappeared faster than a speeding Sportster).

So there you have it. La Valette in a nutshell:

The unusual: a crash course in photography.

The usual: riding, laughter, and carbs.

The indispensable: the ride itself. Always the ride.

Next week — Calabrone. We’re ready. Are you?
