HOGs by the Pool – Do HOGs Swim?

(Spoiler alert: Yes. And we rock the pool too!)

I’ve had this question stuck in my head for about a year now – do HOGs actually swim? You know, with all that leather and chrome, you'd think we might just sunbathe by the edge. But here’s the answer loud and clear: Yes, HOGs do swim… and we party hard while we’re at it!

Our summer pool day was set in a perfect spot, tucked away in the peaceful Ghaxaq countryside. Big drive-in (bikes approved), fully kitted kitchen, loads of pool space, a practical round bar (because squares are boring), and plenty of shaded chill-out spots. The scene was set for a classic La Valette-style takeover.

The magic started early. Officers and helpers rolled in from morning, unloading equipment, drink crates, food supplies, you name it. The kitchen became a hive of activity with Chef Omar Farrugia leading the charge, perfectly flanked by Giuseppe De Luca. These guys didn’t just feed us—they made sure we could eat three times over! Hats off, lads! Now go grab a drink and start drafting the menu for the next event.

A cool little merch corner added some flair to the day. Bonus? The new La Valette hoodies were in – fresh, comfy, and instantly snapped up.

By noon, the crowd started rolling in. Relaxed vibes kicked in immediately. Cold beer in hand, kids splashing in the pool, people lounging and chatting, and good music humming in the background. Time slipped by like a well-oiled machine. Or a well-oiled biker, depending on how you look at it.

After dinner (yes, more food), Trudy Vella took over the mic for bingo—and she was a natural. That is, until the Bezzinas decided to dominate every single round. Word on the street is they had to hire a transport company to haul their prize stash back home. Fair play!

And just when you thought the day couldn’t get any better… Karaoke kicked off. HOGs can ride, HOGs can cook, and it turns out, some of us can really sing. Others... well, let’s just say, the spirit was there!

It was a day full of laughs, entertainment, and proper family fun. As the evening cooled down, people slowly drifted off, sun-kissed and happy.

A huge thank you goes out to everyone who helped pull this off. Too many names to list, but you know who you are.

What really makes this group shine isn’t just the bikes, the events, or even the epic karaoke skills – it’s the people. Always ready to help, always ready to have fun. La Valette Malta isn’t just a bikers' group. It’s a family. And we just keep getting better.
