A Rainy Yet Resilient Weekend Ride

10th February

When it rains, it rains in Malta! This weekend was one of those wet and grey ones, with our hopes of riding our Harleys dashed by the weather. Saturday and Sunday brought nothing but grey skies and bad weather, leading us to postpone our Sunday ride. But we kept our spirits high and rescheduled the ride for Monday, a public holiday.
Our brave members gathered at our usual spot in Mriehel on Monday. At 09:30, after a short briefing on the route and safety tips, Sandro Anastasi, one of our dedicated RCs, led the group towards the north of the island. However, heavy clouds started to gather from the north, so he quickly decided to turn and head towards Luqa for a safer stop with enough space to park the bikes under a big tent in case the rain came down.

The group stopped for a hot coffee and something sweet from Dolce Sicilia ☕. The sky turned a full grey, so it was agreed to head home quickly before the storm hit ⛈.
Most of the bikers regrouped for a friendly lunch together at Cafe Cuba, where they spent the whole afternoon in good company 🍔🍕🍟.
Despite the bad weather, it was a relief that we managed to ride and get together on Monday, a public holiday. It's a bonus that in February, we are still able to keep the momentum and ride together, living up to our motto that as La Valette HOG, we ride all year round 🖤🧡🤛.
Thank you to all the members for keeping this group so vibrant and for attracting new members to join us. A special thanks to our officers, Kevin Caruana and both Vigos, for helping out in the coordination of this ride 🤝.
