May was a month full of excitement, adventure, and unforgettable moments, and this final week was the perfect way to end it in style. From fun games to thrilling rides, meaningful conversations, and exciting plans for the future, La Valette Malta once again proved why we are more than just a motorcycle group. The week started with a blast from the past as we played Guess Who?—a creative and hilarious game where members shared childhood photos, and the rest of the group had to guess who they were! The result? Lots of laughs, surprises, and great stories that reminded us of how far we’ve come. It was a light-hearted way to break up the routine and bring everyone closer before heading into an action-packed weekend.
Weekend Warm-up: Evening Rides & Meetups
As the weekend approached, some members geared up for an evening practice ride in preparation for the upcoming European HOG Rally in Croatia. The excitement is growing, and riders are putting in the effort to ensure a smooth, enjoyable trip. Meanwhile, on Friday night, another group met for a spontaneous meetup at Avenue 77, where conversation and laughter flowed effortlessly. Later, the group headed south for a relaxed night ride, followed by a casual dinner, making the most of the warm late-spring evening.

Saturday, as always, was a time for the La Valette Malta family to reunite at the WKD showroom. A good number of members showed up to enjoy time together, catching up on the latest happenings and sharing stories over coffee. After a short ride, a meeting was held to discuss the upcoming Croatia trip. With Medulin hosting the European HOG Rally, there was plenty to go through—from route plans to logistics for the whole journey. This trip is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the year, and the members who are joining are counting down the days!
Sunday’s Big Ride: A Perfect Day in Gozo
The official monthly ride to Gozo was back on the calendar after being postponed due to bad weather. This time, luck was on our side—the skies were clear, the temperature was just right, and everything aligned for a fantastic day on two wheels. Despite the change in the date, a good number of members turned up, excited to hit the road. By 8:30 AM, the Harleys were gleaming in the morning sun at our usual meeting spot in Mriehel, ready to go. After a briefing from our road captains, we fired up the engines and rolled out towards Cirkewwa.

Our route took us through Rabat, Zebbiegh, and the scenic Manikata area before passing by Popeye Village and riding alongside Ghadira Beach toward the ferry terminal. The ferry ride was smooth—so calm that it barely felt like we were moving! By 10:15 AM, we were in Gozo, ready for a full day of exploration.

Our first stop was Nadur, where we had reserved parking in the charming village square. At Andria Bar, we were treated to freshly baked pastizzi, the perfect snack to start the day, alongside chilled beers and soft drinks. Members mingled, shared stories, and enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere—but this was just the beginning!

Next, we set off to Dwejra, one of Gozo’s most famous natural spots. Known for its rugged coastline and crystal-clear waters, Dwejra was once home to the iconic Azure Window, which collapsed in 2017. Still, the area remains breathtaking, and it was the perfect place to take in the views and enjoy a peaceful moment before continuing the ride.

By 12:30 PM, we were saddled up and heading toward Qala Village, where a big group lunch awaited us at D Bar restaurant. The food did not disappoint—delicious soups, penne pasta, ribs, seabass, and chicken roulade made for a feast worthy of the great company we had. Conversations flowed, laughter echoed through the restaurant, and we enjoyed every single moment together. As much as we wished the day could last forever, time was flying by, and soon it was time to head back to Mgarr Ferry for our return to Malta. The ride was smooth, but just as we were about to board, one of our members ran into bike trouble—it wouldn’t start. Thankfully, fate was on our side! A tow truck happened to be in the ferry queue, and the driver generously offered to transport the bike back to WKD showroom. A little unexpected drama, but nothing we couldn’t handle! There is no doubt the bike will soon be back on the road and heading towards Croatia, an amazing trip to make more miles!

In the end, it was a weekend to remember—a true celebration of riding, friendship, and passion. La Valette Malta is not just about motorcycles—it’s about the people, the connections, and the joy of sharing a love for the open road. Every ride, every meetup, and every event brings us closer together, making this group a special part of each member’s life. And we’re not stopping here! This summer is packed with meetups, evening rides, and exciting activities, with our Ladies of Harley leading the charge—stepping things up with incredible events while also raising money for charity.
Through all seasons, La Valette Malta rides together, laughs together, and creates memories that will last a lifetime.
